Why Lancasters love Adlington…

Adlington is a lovely village positioned between Chorley and Horwich. Traditionally the village was split into two parts- ‘upper & lower’,

though they basically benefit from the same features and it takes just a matter of minutes to travel between the two. Whilst three would have been a time when you would have either been ‘one or t’other’ the areas are now nicely merged and include a selection of retail shops and services with many more available in Chorley itself or the nearby town of Horwich. The village suits many styles of buyer and there is a wide selection of property type. A feature that underpins the village, like many of its surrounding residential areas is the superb access to the surrounding countryside. The village hosts a stretch of the Leeds – Liverpool canal and has good links towards the West Pennine Moors and Winter Hill. Motorway and Rail links are good and there are two primary schools in the village itself. The creature comforts of pubs and restaurants are dotted around and it is not uncommon that locals would commute towards Manchester and the Trafford Centre or further into the countryside to socialise.
